Sand Mandala Creation

Viewing the creation of the mandala (sand painting) is free and open to the public each day. The Tibetan monks are creating the World Peace Sand Mandala at Sedonya, from March 5th to the 18th. Visitors may come to watch the sand mandala take form, to learn more about Tibetan art, or to just sit and meditate!

Green Tara

In this intimate, peaceful space, the monks of Gaden Shartse monastery will engage participants in Green Tara Empowerment. Green Tara is a beautiful female embodiment of compassion and right action — appropriate for male and female alike.

During the Empowerment, each participant’s three doors (body, speech, and mind) are purified of negativities and blessed individually..

Lojong is a practice involves refining and purifying one's motivations and attitudes There are eight beautiful verses that comprise of the "Eight Verses of Training the Mind".   These verses are essential for the progress on the path to enlightenment.

Literally translated, 'Chay Drol' means to make free of obstacles. Chay Drol is a ritual that helps to remove the obstacles that prevent one from achieving enlightenment. The procedure begins with the Geshe going into deep meditation and generating himself in the form of a deity. He then places colored strings and pieces of cloth on various parts of the participant's body. Through ritual, the strings and pieces of cloth will be transformed to physically represent the obstacles of the participant

Sunday March 17th

10 am to 11:30 am

Through embracing the power of Medicine Buddha, we are given a chance to bond with a enlightened healer who has reached ultimate liberation from physical and mental anguish. Medicine Buddha symbolises all healed, powerful energies.

Join us as the Tibetan Monks perform a Twenty-One Tara Puja Ritual featuring: Powerful chanting, Tibetan bells & music, followed by a Question & Answer from the Monks.


Through this ritual we will invoke the 21 Taras for blessings to remove all obstacles, purify negative conditions & bring success to all activities of your life.

This will be the last time to see the monks before they head off to their next stop on the tour.
