About Dr. Karmen Smith

Dr. Karmen Smith LCSW DD is a trauma specialist and spiritual guide with over 20 years of experience helping people break free from the limitations of their minds. She is the author of THE I AM SOLUTION: Simple Practices to Transform Fear Back to Love. She is the director /writer of The American Labyrinth which The New York International Film Festival awarded Best Social Justice Film. All of her projects are about trauma healing and spiritual awakening.

Introduction to the Matrix:

Exploration of the concept of the matrix as a metaphor for the limitations we think we have. Those limitations that we cling to can come from many places but do not serve our highest potential. The discussion of the film The Matrix and its themes, including reality, choice, and self-discovery and how we can relate it to our lives.

Identification of the programming and beliefs that hinder our growth and potential

Exploration of how the matrix manifests in our personal relationships, careers, and overall well-being

Development of strategies for breaking free from the matrix and embracing our true selves

Cultivation of self-awareness, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence

* Become aware of your programming and beliefs. Pay attention to the thoughts you have about yourself and the world around you. Notice the beliefs that are limiting you.

* Challenge your limiting beliefs. Ask yourself if there is any evidence to support your beliefs. Are they really true? Are there other ways of looking at the situation?

Create new, empowering beliefs. Replace your limiting beliefs with beliefs that are more positive and supportive.

* Set boundaries. Learn to say no to things that you don't want to do. Set limits on how much time you spend with people who are not supportive of you.

* Practice self-care. Take care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Make time for activities that you enjoy and that make you feel good.

* Connect with your true self. Spend time in nature, meditate, or do other activities that help you to connect with your inner wisdom.
